(Helena, Montana) 406 Recycling, a Helena area recycling company specializing in data-secure electronics recycling and event recycling services, is now offering community collection events in partnership with the Good Samaritan Thrift Store in Helena.
406 Recycling will provide data-secure recycling for computer, entertainment, and office related electronics collection events on the last Friday of the month through April at the parking lot of the Good Samaritan Thrift Store behind Natural Grocers at 3067 N Montana Avenue. All collections will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Most items are accepted for free with a $10 donation to Good Samaritan encouraged. Items with a charge include older style CRT televisions ($1/inch measured diagonally), TV’s larger than 36 inches ($15 per unit), and data destruction receipts ($4 by mail/$3 by email).
Cell phone and laptop batteries are accepted, but most other batteries are not accepted at this time unless they are included in the recycled item. Businesses and other entities with more than an armful of electronics should call ahead at (406) 449-6008 to pre-register or schedule a pickup with 406 Recycling.

406 Recycling is committed to providing data-secure environmentally responsible recycling and local job opportunities. 406 Recycling ensures environmental stewardship by only selling electronic recyclables to E-Steward or R2/RIOS certified facilities, entities that have verified process to know where all material goes and to ensure it is responsibly recycled. Event Summary: Monthly Electronics Recycling Events in Helena
406 Recycling will provide data secure recycling events for computer, entertainment, and office related electronics at 3067 N Montana Ave, South-East section of the parking lot in front of Good Samaritan Thrift Store and behind Natural Grocers at 3067 N Montana Avenue. Events will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the last Friday of each month from this November 30, 2018, to April 2019.
Office electronics including computers, laptops, printers, network gear, LCD screens and related items such as cords, keyboards, and mice; entertainment items including most televisions, gaming systems, stereos, and related equipment; and personal items such as cell phones, tablets, and accessories will be accepted free of charge as part of the events. A $10 donation to Good Samaritan is suggested.
Cathode Ray Tube (“CRTs”), console, and projection televisions or monitors will cost $1 per diagonal inch to recycle; other monitors or televisions over 36 inches will cost $15 per unit. Data destruction receipts will available for $4 by email or $5 by mail. Laptop, cell phone, and tablet batteries will be accepted, most other batteries will not be accepted unless they are included in the item being recycled. Microwaves will be accepted for $15; other kitchen and large household appliances are otherwise not accepted as part of the events. No items with biohazard labels, PCB’s or that are otherwise hazardous to handle will be accepted.
A $10 donation for Good Samaritan Ministries is recommended. Businesses and commercial entities are encouraged to call ahead or schedule a pickup ahead of the event.
